Maria Savino, MA, LCSW, CCTS-I
Perhaps you are experiencing stress in your days, have relationships filled with conflict, or are not feeling passionate about your career - thinking your goals seem out of reach. A total approach through clarifying your needs, identifying your goals, managing stress, increasing coping skills, and improving relationships, comprehensively we will make strides towards greater overall life satisfaction. Collaboratively we will create functional habits and make positive changes, by overcoming mental/emotional obstacles which prevent you from living your best life. The psychotherapy process will support you in addressing challenges which prevent you from living authentically and becoming the best version of yourself.
My experience working with a broad range of issues, and various types of people has shown that inspiring trust and offering knowledge-based responsiveness provides the basis for meaningful psychotherapy. Through improving your ability to speak from a deeper perspective, astute listening, and offering insightful comparatives, we will work towards a habit shift, ultimately improving your life flow.
Bringing my real self into session, a positive therapeutic rapport is easily established - the foundation for successful psychotherapy - a pathway to your personal evolution. I'm invested in the collaborative process, have a style that is empathetic and nonjudgmental, and approach each session with a supportive spirit.
I have an MA graduate degree in Clinical Health Psychology from Yeshiva University Albert Einstein College of Medicine, as well as an MSW degree from Hunter College School of Social Work. I have been trained as a Certified Clinical Trauma Therapist and received CCTS-I certification by the Trauma Institute International. I remain an active learner and participate in ongoing trainings on mental health issues and therapeutic strategies. With years of experience I have found that the growth exhibited by clients collaborating in Brief Strategic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy,, Dialectic Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and/or Mindfulness has been effective in assisting them to reach their stated therapeutic goals.
