Do you finally want to address a substance abuse or other addiction problem? I have a vast amount of experience working with people and their families who suffer from a variety of addictions such as drug and alcohol abuse, sexual addiction, eating disorders, and compulsive gambling. I also see individuals, couples, and families for a variety of other issues such as depression, anxiety, and stress management. In a safe, supportive, confidential atmosphere, we can work together to address many of your life issues previously mentioned. I primarily work with adults but also see adolescents who present with alcohol and drug issues. I believe addiction to be primarily a disease of the brain, which means people suffering from them should always be treated with respect and care. I use Motivational Enhancement therapy with my clients which mean we are partners in the therapeutic process working toward a goal of life improvement and self-enjoyment.
Education/Training
Masters Degree in Counselor Education from the University of New Orleans. Bachlor's degree from Louisiana State University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Licensed Addiction Counselor.
Bio
I conduct Family Interventions for members of families and friends who want to help a loved one suffering from an addiction. A Family Intervention is a powerful way to help a loved one who is suffering from an addiction but has refused help.
I am also available for court-mandated or private substance abuse assessments.
My extensive background includes previously owning Lakeside Counseling Center, an outpatient substance abuse treatment center, previously being Clinical Director of the St. John Drug Court Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program, and previously being a consultant with two other Drug Court Treatment Programs. I currently operate three groups for Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Drug and Alcohol Diversion Program.
