* Cognitive/behavior therapy, reality therapy, psychodynamic therapy and hypnotherapy are primary treatment methods utilized.
* We accept referrals from clients, attorneys, physicians and Employee Assistance Programs as well as other sources.
* Appointment scheduling is flexible to accommodate your personal, educational or employment needs. Your initial appointment will be scheduled within 1-2 days (no extended wait time).
* Emergencies are seen on the same-day or next-day basis.
* Available for contact by telephone or e-mail on a 24/7 basis for emergencies or urgent situations that may arise..
* Most insurances accepted - direct pay option also available.
Education/Training
Dr. Traitel received his degree from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan in 1968 and completed a one year intensive clinical internship at University Hospitals/Case Western Reserve, Cleveland, Ohio. He was cited for academic excellence by the PSI CHI National Honorary Society in Psychology.
Bio
Dr. Traitel has been in the private practice of clinical psychology for over 40 years and is a recognized provider of psychological services by the National Register of Health Service Providers, Washington, DC since 1975. He is fully licensed by the State of Michigan. Dr. Traitel has been married for over 46 years with two children and two grandchildren. He is a lifetime resident of the Detroit metropolitan area.
Prior to entering full-time practice he served as the Co-Director of the Oakland County Juvenile Court Psychological Clinic as well as Oakland County Childrens Village, Pontiac, Michigan, a nationally recognized model program for treating neglected, abused and delinquent children (ages infancy to 18). He also assisted in obtaining National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) grants to create and administer specialized training programs in corrections for selected candidates from universities all over the United States. He has been active in applied research related to design and implementation of numerous treatment facilities and programs.

Dr. Traitel is recognized as an expert witness by several Circuit Courts as well as the US Federal District Court (Michigan District).
