Valerie Ducos, L.Ac.
I became an Acupuncturist in 2003. I had worked as a massage therapist since 1990 but wanted to be able to heal more then muscular problems. My clinic has a peaceful and calm environment. Healing is always easier when relaxed. Providing care for children, adults, and seniors, I understand the need for consistent care and treat each patient with respect. Because I am an independent I am patient driven. I am not tied to any large medical corporation. This means that I can take time and focus on providing excellent and effective care that is responsive to the needs of each individual.
Bio
I graduated from Yo San University of T.C.M. with a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. I am a California state licensed acupuncturist and a certified Diplomat in Acupuncture and Herbology under the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I have been in the healing profession since 1990. I spent part of my residency doing volunteer work at the West Hollywood Aids Clinic. My extended studies include woman's health (menopause, infertility),orthopedics, pain management, pediatrics and the popular acupuncture facial rejuvenation.
I maintain my office in Sherman Oaks CA. I have created a relaxing and comforting environment.
As an acupuncturist I joined Studio City Orthopedics & Medical Group treating a range of ailments from the common cold, orthopedic injuries to infertility. I spent a year working with Acupuncture At Sea treating people from all around the world while living on a cruise ship. When I returned from this adventure I returned to my Sherman Oaks office.
I began my health care profession as a Licensed & Certified Massage Therapist. I spent fifteen years maintaining a private practice, teaching massaging and managing Massage Masters Therapy Center in Sherman Oaks CA. I was awarded The Patrons Association, Krupnick Essay Award for my paper “SEX OR HEALTH CARE? GOVERNMENT REGULATION OF EDUCATION AND LICENSING FOR MASSAGE”. While living in South Africa I introduced Johannesburg to Pregnancy Massage by giving radio interviews and teaching classes about its health benefits. On my return I continued to teach at the Touch Therapy Institute in Encino CA.
I personally have an acupuncture treatment every other week. I get the Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation or if any health issues come up I have that treated. Regular treatments keep me healthy.
My extensive travels have allowed me to see different approaches to treatment. I have learned that each individual has their own way of healing and my job is to help facilitate that.
I am dedicated to the miracle of healing. My greatest reward is seeing my patient's recovery. Through Acupuncture, Herbology, Diet and Exercise I will help you balance your Body, Mind and Spirit.”
