Benjamin Waughtal earned his Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Benjamin has experience counseling in both the clinical inpatient setting and the outpatient setting with individuals, adolescent to older adult, struggling with a broad range of issues such as depression, anxiety, bipolar, and self-harm. Benjamin is especially well versed in work with adolescents, specifically teenage males with ADHD, drug abuse, oppositional behavior, anger/aggression, under achievement, social skills, and adjustment issues.
The therapeutic approach that Benjamin utilizes with clients incorporates aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. He believes in the importance of a client-therapist relationship that is above all comfortable and built on trust to best facilitate growth in the client through direct, open, and honest communication. This collaborative effort is what allows Benjamin and his clients to personalize the work that is done together to best utilize the strengths of each individual.
