Payam Ghassemlou, MFT, Ph.D.
Psychotherapist, Author, Speaker
8721 Santa Monica Blvd #451
My practice welcomes people of all backgrounds, identities, and relationship styles, and I am especially committed to supporting BIPOC, neurodivergent, and LGBTQ+ individuals. I offer a trauma-informed, sex-positive, and anti-oppressive therapeutic space where you can show up fully as yourself without judgment. I support clients in reconnecting with their bodies, exploring their inner worlds, healing from trauma, and building lives that feel more authentic and fulfilling. My professional experience also includes teaching in the Doctoring 1 Program at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine, where I’ve guided medical students in patient-centered care, ethics, and empathy. Reach out today—I’m here to help you move toward lasting growth and resilience.

Bio
For more than thirty years as a licensed psychotherapist, I have had the privilege of listening to the life stories of remarkable people. Their experiences have included coming out, living with HIV/AIDS, heartbreak, grief, isolation, anxiety, betrayal, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the many stresses of navigating an increasingly complex world.
I am committed to providing an affirming, culturally responsive therapeutic space for people of all backgrounds and identities. I have extensive experience supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, BIPOC communities, immigrants, neurodivergent people, artists, and others seeking a place where their unique experiences are respected, understood, and valued.
The people who come to me are courageous storytellers. It is an honor to witness personal narratives and deeply held truths that may never have been shared before. In the safety of the therapeutic relationship, many clients report feeling truly heard, understood, and accepted.
Together, we can explore your unique story, deepen self-understanding, and work toward meaningful change. Greater vitality, emotional balance, resilience, and progress toward your personal goals can emerge through our work together.
