Practice Information
People who come for neurofeedback are people who want something to change in their lives. They are people who want to be their best selves. The way this shows up – and how neurofeedback may help you – is in having more focus, contentment, better sleep, more ease in connection with others. You may want to reduce or eliminate anxiety, OCD, phobias and other anxiety conditions, or decrease or get rid of depression, anger, cognitive losses, etc. I have seen excellent results with all of those.

Because neurofeedback works directly with the CNS - the central nervous system, your brain and spinal cord - improving your CNS can impact your life positively and broadly. The CNS is really "the captain of the ship." A more stable, flexible and resilient CNS naturally leads to an improved quality of life and increased productivity.

When you come for training to my New York City Upper West Side office, we will use state of the art neurofeedback to take advantage of the powerful ability of your CNS to take in information and use it to regulate itself, and to do this in the way that is organically right for you. This can have you be at your best, probably in the ways you have in mind, and perhaps in ways that might surprise you.
Education
I have two Masters Degrees in the field of psychology. One is in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling from William Lyon University and the other is a Masters in Social Work from Fordham University (essentially, this means a Masters in psychotherapy.)

In addition, I am a Zengar Institute certified Advanced Trainer. NeurOptimal™, developed by Zengar Institute, is the neurofeedback system I use.
Bio:
Before opening my neurofeedback practice, I had been a psychotherapist working with adults (18 and older) in a private practice setting for over twenty years. (If you’re not familiar with the term “private practice,” it means a private office where you have more privacy than in a clinic.) Prior to opening a private practice, I worked in organizational settings.

Although the results my clients and I obtained by working together in psychotherapy were very good, when I was introduced to neurofeedback several years ago I could see right away that it could be beneficial to many of my clients. I introduced it first to some of my therapy clients and then made it available to people who wanted to come just for neurofeedback. I’m happy to tell you that my guess about the difference it could make proved to be correct. Now my practice is half psychotherapy and half neurofeedback, with come of my clients choosing to come for both.

I also teach and supervise beginners to the field and have found it extremely rewarding to be a part of neurofeedback becoming more widely available.
