Education |
I received my graduate training in Clinical Psychology from The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, CA, and subsequently studied at The Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis in San Francisco, where I received my diploma in 2007.
In addition, I spent 3 years at The Center for Human Development in San José, CA, where I studied child psychology with several top clinicians in the field.
I am certified by the International Institute of Trauma & Addiction Professionals (IITAP) as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT-S) and also work as a supervisor in that capacity.
I have received my certification from the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused (Couples) Therapy in Ottawa, and am currently a supervisor-in-training.
Although I have many years of experience and several areas in which I have advanced training and/or certifications, I am committed to continued learning, and attend several conferences and trainings each year, staying connected to the top consultants and researchers in my field. |
Bio: |
As a psychotherapist my primary focus is to support and facilitate my client's journey to a deeper understanding and awareness of him- or herself. This goal is best achieved, I believe, by supporting self-acceptance and insight, and by forming with each client, couple or family a safe, secure and non-judgmental relationship – one which fosters a meaningful connection for us both; and one in which my patients experience a felt sense of acceptance and belonging.
It is within this alliance that, together, we can explore, understand, and begin to dismantle any obstacles and unproductive patterns of coping that, although once useful – indeed, likely necessary – in dealing with painful life events or difficult childhood relationships, may now be keeping them from enjoying a more fulfilling life, a life in alignment with their hopes, dreams, spirituality...their highest aspirations. |
