Dr. Ruth is a Doctor of Chiropractic and a wellness and lifestyle coach. She is passionate about transforming people in body, mind and spirit to help them become their unique best. Her practice has been evolving for more than 30 years and has incorporated her interests in athletics and performance enhancement. She has completed advanced education and clinical training in rehabilitation, sports medicine and functional exercise training. She is also a Certified Kinesiotaping Practitioner; incorporating the use of the same “muscle tape” for her patients as is utilized by professional athletes and Olympians. Treatment strategy in her office is of course to reduce pain, but ultimately to improve function and provide the tools necessary for self-management and health maintenance. Much to the adage of “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” A great deal of time in her office is spent on performance evaluation and exercise prescription. Her practice includes chiropractic, muscle/soft-tissue therapy, kinesiotaping, gait analysis and postural assessment and conditioning. Dr. Cohen practices out of her home office in Greenvale, where there is a large selection of teas, hot chocolate, and soothing music, and where Shadow the dog is always available for a pat or a hug.
