I am a founding member of the Association of Educational Therapy, and have been practicing for 30 years. My preference is working with PK-6th graders, as this educational foundation is the key to later success. The younger the student, the less academic workload needs to be introduced. We can methodically move from phonics to reading two, three and four-letter words, each following simple rules using syllables. This lays the foundation for phonics, reading, spelling, and all the components of Language Arts. I have written the booklets for success starting with sound-symbol association, two-syllable, three-syllable and four-syllable words, sentences and short stories. Simultaneously, children are taught fluency skills, and remediation techniques for overcoming reading errors. My mission is to reward children with becoming independent learners, using a "self-correction" method of attending to their academic tasks. I work with the parents and teachers when appropriate to have their reinforcement to understand the importance of working as a team.
