Sometimes We All Need a Little Sanctuary...
I operate a small, personalized service out of my home. I customize all my services to maximize pain relief and relaxation and hold myself to the highest professional and ethical standards. My main objective is to promote overall health and, in cases where the situation requires further professional assistance, I refer clients to other professionals better suited to treat the condition in question and work closely with doctors, physical therapists and chiropractors to promote the overall health and well-being of my clients. I continue to seek out training in new modalities to further benefit my clients and promote their good health.

Issan Thai Massage - We Aim to Heal
What’s a Thai Yoga Massage? Thai massage is believed to have been developed by Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha, physician to Buddha, more than 2,500 years ago in India. It made its way to Thailand, where the Ayurvedic techniques and principles gradually became influenced by traditional Chinese medicine. For centuries, Thai Yoga massage was performed by monks as one component of Thai medicine. What does Thai Yoga massage feel like? Thai massage is more energizing and rigorous than more classic forms of massage. Thai massage is also called Thai Yoga massage, because the therapist uses his or her hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches. Many people say Thai massage is like doing yoga without any work. Muscle compression, joint mobilization, and acupressure are also used during treatment. People describe Thai Yoga massage as both relaxing and energizing. What should I expect during my visit? Thai Yoga massage is usually done on a padded mat on the floor. No oil is applied, so you are fully dressed. You are usually asked to bring or wear comfortable clothing to the massage. A typical Thai Yoga massage is 60 minutes to two hours long. What conditions is Thai Yoga massage used for? Many people find that Thai Yoga massage has the following benefits: •relaxes •reduces stress •improves circulation •increases energy •increases flexibility •improves range of motion •centers the mind and body Precautions - Thai Yoga massage is not recommended for certain people: •infectious skin disease, rash, or open wounds •immediately after surgery •immediately after chemotherapy or radiation, unless recommended by your doctor •prone to blood clots. There is a risk of blood clots being dislodged. If you have heart disease, check with your doctor before having a massage •pregnant women should check with their doctor first if they are considering getting a Thai Yoga massage. A Thai Yoga massage in pregnant women should only be done by therapists who are certified in pregnancy massages. •massage should not be done directly over bruises, inflamed skin, unhealed wounds, tumors, abdominal hernia, or areas of recent fractures. Additional tips •Don’t eat a heavy meal before the massage and if it's your first time at the clinic or spa, arrive on time! •Be sure that your Thai Yoga massage therapist has your complete health history, because people with certain conditions should not have Thai massage. •If you feel discomfort at any time, let your Thai Yoga massage therapist know. Relax with Massage and Hypnosis
I offer therapeutic massage for pain and stress management, an eclectic blend of modalities that includes Deep Tissue Massage, Shiatsu, Swedish Massage and Reiki. If you prefer one particular modality over another, I can do that. 17 years of practice has given me a very good intuitive sense with clients. I base the choice of modality on the needs and preferences of the client. I also offer Reconnective Healing which is off the body energy work. My audio CD, Guided Massage for Everyone, gives step by step instructions to enable the non-professional to massage family and friends. If you'd like other options for stress management and healing, I am also a Certified HypnoCounselor. Hypnosis is a heightened state of focused awareness that gently and effectively interrupts and replaces behavior patterns so you can easily make the changes that lead to new possibilities and behaviors. Hypnosis facilitates change in the following areas: weight loss, smoking cessation, pain management, stress management, insomnia, relationships, creativity, sports performance, confidence, public speaking and more. Call or email for a free consultation to see if hypnosis can help your particular habit or challenge.
