Healing Therapies for Mind, Body and Spirit
Traditional Asian Bodywork Our centers specialize in traditional Asian bodywork including Shiatsu, Thai Yoga Bodywork and Chi Nei Tsang. These bodywork styles greatly complement laser-acupuncture or standard needle acupuncture and herbal medicine treatments. Chi Nei Tsang is a holistic approach to the healing touch modality of ancient Asian origin. It integrates the physical, mental, emotional aspects of our being as other modalities of Traditional Asian Medicine. CNT goes to the very origin of health problems, including psychosomatic responses and emotional "holding" patterns that are associated with the vaious organ systems and meridians of the body.. Chi Nei Tsang literally means “working the energy of the internal organs” or “internal organs chi transformation.” CNT uses all the principles of Kung (Gong) Fu and Tai Chi Chuan known as Chi-Kung (Qi Gong); therefore, CNT is a form of “applied Qi Gong.” CNT practitioners are trained in Qi Gong and work mainly on the abdomen with deep, soft and gentle touches, to train internal organs to work more efficiently. Unprocessed emotional charges are also addressed in this manner, as well as all of the body systems: digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, lymphatic, nervous, endocrine, urinary, reproductive, muscular-skeletal, and the acupuncture meridian system (Qi). Dr. McCormick combines laser acu-point therapy ("laser acupuncture") with traditional CNT treatments for enhanced therapeutic results, addressing a wide variety of health and wellness concerns. He also integrates CNT into Thai Yoga Therapy sessions performed on a floor mat through the clothing. This style of bodywork is also known as "Lazy Person's Yoga" since the client is moved passively through a variety of stretches and positions that are similar to yoga asanas. This blends Chinese and Ayurvedic healing traditions together. Dr. McCormick bring his training and over two decades of practice as a yoga instructor into this form of bodywork. Dr. Terence McCormick, BS, MAcOM, DAOM, CMT, CLT Nationally Certified in Massage and Bodywork Certified Chi Nei Tsang & Thai Yoga Therapy Practitioner
