Dr. Russo started practicing Acupuncture and Chinese medicine in 2001 after graduating with his Masters Degree of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California. He practiced in Integrative clinics, hospitals, and private practice in Pennsylvania and South Carolina.
Dr. Russo moved to Seattle to continue his studies and fullfill his dream of earning his doctorate at Bastyr University. Bastyr University's Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) program specializes in Integrative Oncology and Advanced Pain Management. In 2010, he graduated from Bastyr University and became adjunct faculty for several years while maintaining a private practice in Edmonds.
Dr. Russo has studied acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and western medicine throughout the United States and China. He has studied at the Sichuan combination of Traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese medicine, and the Hubei College of Traditional Chinese medicine. Dr. Russo has received Certification in Traditional Chinese medicine Oncology from Chengdu and Shanghai. He has also has Certification in advanced acupuncture training in Hubei, China. He is board certified in Oriental Medicine from National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
One of the reasons Dr. Russo chose cancer as a specialty is because his grandmother died of lung cancer when he was eight years old. Her death inspired him to get into the healthcare field. As the founder of Transformational Oncology Center, Dr. Russo specializes in Integrative Oncology. He has a passion for helping breast cancer survivors to improve their healing abilities with Acupuncture and Asian medicine.
