Overview This 16-session program is designed to meet the needs of psychiatry residents, graduate students, and early-career clinicians interested in learning about practice and treatment approaches in psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. The seminars, taught by PANY faculty, have a practical focus, providing participants with an opportunity to hear and discuss clinical material. Most sessions are structured around a key clinical or theoretical concept, including psychodynamic approaches to specialized topics, and may include optional readings. Participants may request a letter of completion upon meeting the requirements at the conclusion of the Prelude program.
The program includes the option of arranging, at no additional cost, two private mentoring sessions with a psychodynamic clinician to help explore your path as a professional in the fields of psychiatry, psychology, social work, and mental health.
One component of the Prelude to Training program is a 6-week seminar series in the Introduction to Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (click here for more information). This course also may be taken as a stand-alone option. |
