Hello! I’m a level 2 nursing student. I was diagnosed with combination type ADHD in 2017 during my junior year of high school. Prior to that, I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression in 2015. I’m looking for a specialized ADHD therapist or coach in the Rio Rancho/Albuquerque area.
I’m specifically looking for a therapist/coach who specializes in neurodivergent individuals because I haven’t found much success with previous therapists whose approaches don’t exactly work for how my brain functions. I struggle the most with the executive dysfunction and rejection sensitive dysphoria aspects of ADHD.
Now that I’m in nursing school, I’ve found it especially difficult to keep up with the curriculum and fast-paced nature of the specialty, and it’s left me feeling burnt-out, and it’s even harder to motivate myself to go to classes over Zoom. It’s greatly impacted my self-esteem.
I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of NM insurance. I would prefer a female therapist, but I’m really just looking for one who understands ADHD.
I’m on medication, but my consistency with taking it is off, something I may need help with in starting up a regimen.
