Traditional Chinese Massage or Chinese Medical Massage is an ancient system of bodywork, based on Chinese Medicine, designed to locate the root origin of discomfort and pain in the body. Then using an array of specialized techniques applied, moves in to release the body from bindings, which may be caused by any number of things such as energy blockages, sports related injury, Sciatica, stress including emotional distress, trapped or tangled muscle and connective tissue, work related injury, trauma, etc. Focus is on re-balancing the body, thereby creating long lasting and permanent effects, simultaneously increasing energy and circulation. Underneath the umbrella of Traditional Chinese Massage is found Qigong massage, acupressure, shiatsu, sports massage, Tui-na, and a host of other unique applications not easily found in the U.S. Many times the results are astonishing for people who have long suffered chronic pain conditions without having successfully found a solution.
Education/Training
Other training includes certificate programs from the 'Shiatsu Massage School of California' in Santa Monica and the 'East-West Institute of Hand Therapy' in the San Gabriel Valley as well as private training from the famous Blind Masseurs of Shiyan City, Hubei Province, China near Wudang Mountain.
Bio
Privately trained for over 16 years by Taoist Master and Physician, Dr. Baolin Wu of The White Cloud Monastery, Beijing, Michael McBride uses Traditional Chinese Massage and Qigong along with his free flowing background in Tai Chi to enhance the physical posture and energetic systems of the body. He is a native of Los Angeles, CA, and has lived and traveled extensively in and around China for over a decade. He is the co-author of 'The Eight Immortals Revolving Sword of Pure Yang' and teaches Zhang style Taiji Quan, Chinese swordplay and Qigong. He is State Certified by the Ca. Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC) as a CMP.
