Almog Shanun, MFT intern
The Place Within offers skillful, affordable counseling and psychotherapy for individuals, couples and families. At The Place Within, we believe that each person is gifted with the inner inclination, innate wisdom and natural ability for solving their own problems and creating more love, joy and satisfaction in their lives. However, everyone feels unsatisfied, unhappy, even lost at various times. We all face crisis of one type or another. While we can often move through these difficult times on our own, many of us find qualified, caring assistance and coaching helpful, perhaps even necessary, as an aid in wisely and courageously accessing our latent qualities and moving our one precious life toward what we are meant to be.
Education/Training
MFT from pacifica graduate institute.
Bio
I believe therapy is one of the greatest gifts that we can give to ourselves. It is an opportunity to explore and learn about the mysteries of our inner self. When I am working with a client both of us discover a vast new world that waits to unfold.
I studied at Pacifica Graduate Institute, a graduate school dedicated to discovering the inner contents of the self and the secrets of the archetypes of our humanity. I believe in working with my clients face to face, together, by sharing a journey in order to learn about the hardships of today while gaining knowledge about past and present experiences.
I believe in and encourage my client’s strength and ability to solve their own problems and become the healers of their own wounds. I work as a guide and as a fellow traveller in their journey toward self discovery. With every step we take toward discovery, I work hand in hand with my clients, letting them lead in finding the sources of their suffering and their capability to heal them.
I have extensive experience in the helping professions. I have worked for the Israeli Red Cross for eight years as a medic and I have served in the Israeli Defense Forces in a combat unit.
I have traveled the world and learned much about the value of cultural differences and the impact of where we come from has in our lives. I
am very much aware of cultural differences and I am sensitive to each client's cultural beliefs, values, and needs.
I see the mind, the soul, and the body connected when working toward healing and personal growth. I unite these elements in my personal life by practicing martial arts, rock climbing, music, and personal self-discovery.
