Cynthia started her career as a professional musician. She is a trained classical pianist, having studied piano at Peabody Conservatory, Anna Maria College, and the University of Southern Maine. She has worked for over 25 years for numerous off-Broadway and professional theaters as a Music Director, where she had the privilege of accompanying many great artists such as John Raitt.
Later in life, Cynthia went back to school to obtain her B.M. degree in Music Therapy. After graduation, she continued her performing career and worked with special needs children in New York City. Her experience also includes working with children and teens in the school system in Worcester, MA, and in the geriatric setting providing services to dementia patients in the Boston area. She also worked in the adult medical and psychiatric setting where she conducted group therapy work with schizophrenia patients in a lockdown unit; as well as individual therapy work with severe depression/suicidal tendencies, blindness, PTSD, and severe physical disabilities.
Cynthia’s internship was performed at the Rebecca Center (Nordoff-Robbins-based program) where she studied SPED with an autism and PDD concentration.
