Deb H. McNeill is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, providing therapy, coaching and counseling for individuals, couples and families dealing with difficult life transitions, relationship struggles, depression, stress and anxiety.
Every individual is unique and there is no formula to solve every problem. A therapist can help you identify the problem, set good goals and help you begin the work to make the changes you desire or accept the reality you face.
A therapist can sometimes address short-term goals in one or two sessions if that is what you choose. Sometimes it may take multiple sessions to clarify and address your problems and concerns. Some individuals choose to work over a longer period of time taking breaks and starting again as needed. As a licensed and trained therapist I can… Help clarify the problem or identify the stressor in your life Help you define your goals and monitor your progress against those goals Assist you in working to resolve a problem that is clearly defined and where an action plan is an option Support, challenge, educate and guide you through longer-term problems Help clarify the necessary next steps, actions or development of new skills We provide a safe, non-judgmental and supportive space.
Our office is located in the Elizabeth neighborhood, southeast of Uptown Charlotte. |

| Bio |
I work with adults and adolescents managing life transitions. Changes can be hard, even devastating. Transitions including, but not limited to; death of a family member or friend, loss, divorce, unemployment, illness, trauma, aging parents, empty nesters, sexual & gender identity, addiction and life in recovery.
I have experience with treatment of mood disorders, depression and anxiety which are often exacerbated by transitions. Treatment plans and goals are individualized. I apply techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness based cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, motivational interviewing, coaching, and brief crisis therapy.
Prior to private practice, I provided individual, family and group therapy to adults and adolescents in an inpatient hospital setting. I assessed and treated patients admitted to the emergency department of the hospital. I facilitated intensive outpatient therapy for mental health and dual diagnosis intensive outpatient for substance abuse. |
