Dr. Joel W. Durham was born in 1965 and raised in Savannah, TN. Dr. Durham received his degree from Life Chiropractic College, Marietta, Georgia in September of 1990. He passed the National Chiropractic Boards as well as the Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi state boards soon afterwards. He began practice in Tuscaloosa, AL in 1991 and moved to Jackson, TN in 1994. He has over 15 years of clinical experience in the treatment and prevention of spinal and musculoskeletal problems.
Dr. Durham is an advocate of fitness and healthy lifestyle. He was active in organized sports, particularly baseball, through early college. This interest led him to complete 120 hours of post graduate education in sports injury treatment and prevention in 2000. He passed the national examination of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians in 2001, allowing him the title Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP). This knowledge has been a tremendous asset in his ability to diagnose and treat joint problems related to the hip, knee, elbow, wrist, and shoulder. Further post graduate studies include auto injuries, work injuries, ergonomics, nutrition, and rehab.
As the owner of Durham Chiropractic, he enjoys working with patients with a wide variety of physical complaints and is pleased to offer them a holistic approach to health care and continues to be amazed by the changes that can occur in people's lives through chiropractic. Patients range from families and athletes to pregnant women. The doctor takes pride in his comprehensive knowledge and experience in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. He also has a excellent network of specialists to whom he refers patients if indicated.
As he recommends a well rounded life to his patients, Dr. Durham enjoys his time away from the office spent with his family and the great outdoors. He lives in Jackson with his wife Laurie, and his precious daughter Emma. They enjoy the zoo, the beach, and playing outside. He personally enjoys weight training, gardening, hunting, and anything with the great outdoors.
