Monterey Psychologist Providing Individual, Couples,
And Group Psychotherapy to Adults and Adolescents.
There are many reasons why you might be considering a Los Angeles psychologist at this time: a long-standing problem, the impact of a current life situation, and/or wanting support for your personal growth. Whatever your reasons, I know that it's important for you to find a therapist with whom you feel you can develop a good working relationship - someone whom you feel you can trust, who can understand your situation, someone with solid training and experience.

In our work together we will come to understand more about the sense you may have that your life is not your own - feeling stuck, feeling driven by old habits, feeling depressed, feeling consumed and forestalled by rage, feeling that change is needed in your relationship or in your career.

You and I will work together to build a trusting and non-judgmental relationship where you can feel safe to talk about yourself openly. The strength of our relationship is a crucial foundation for our work together. You know your life better than anyone else. Therefore, we will hold great respect for your wisdom about yourself. I will offer my professional knowledge and wisdom as well, and together, we will work to help you discover how to live the life that is best and most fitting for you.

In individual therapy, I see my role as a guide and facilitator to help you discover the resources within to become an active agent of your own healing and growth. You'll develop new awareness about the patterns in your life that no longer serve you and new skills to transform those patterns. For couples, I'll help you lower reactivity and shift the dynamics that block intimacy and connectedness so that you can engage with each other with more authenticity and empathy.
Education/Training
I began my education at The University of California, Riverside where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Later I continued my education at San Diego State University where I earned my Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. And finally I earned both a Master's degree and Doctorate degree from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in Alhambra.
Bio
My style is relational, collaborative and engaged. The relationship that is built between the client and therapist gives me a lot of information about how clients interact in the world. My understanding as a therapist is informed by my training and clinical experience, but also grounded by a long-held commitment to my own psychological work and development.

I have been working as a psychotherapist for approximately 5 years in a variety of settings. I have my doctorate (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology and am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PSY 24971).

My clinical training has emphasized using a strengths based approach to psychotherapy with a focus on multicultural mental health. This means that I emphasize what is working in your life instead of emphasizing everything that is not working. I have worked directly with members of the LGBT community, people of color, and the elderly.

I am a registered member of the Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement as well as the Land of PureGold Foundation.
