Child and Adolescent Specialist
I have been in private practice in south Orange County for 26 years. I specialize in children and adolescent therapy using play therapy, individual, and family therapy. I treat depression, anxiety, behavior problems, school problems, ADHD, and stress to name a few. I use a psychodynamic and attachment model that enables me to go beyond treating the symptoms to getting at the root cause of behavior. I firmly believe in working with the parents. If working individually with a child I believe that it is important to have periodic meetings with the parents to coach them in recommended changes, but also with them create a treatment plan and be able to follow up during treatment. My expertise in child development and attachment also enable me to work very effectively with adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, relationship problems in marriage, work, parenting, and significant relationships.
Education/Training
My degree is from Biola University and Rosemead Graduate School of Psychology which is the premier program in the United States for the integration of psychological principles and the Christian belief system.
Bio
I have been in private practice in south Orange County for 26 years. I have done numerous workshops on marriage, parenting, and children's issues at churches and schools. I have also done training workshops for counselors helping them learn to diagnose and treat children. I believe that a helpful therapist is also one who invests in their relationships, gifts, and interests. I have been married for 33 years, have 3 children, and love writing and producing music
