If you’re looking for a practice where you’re treated as an individual in a calm and nurturing environment then my practice might be for you. When I started Different Drummer Acupuncture in 1998 I tried to make it a place that people would want to come to and based on the comments I get from my patients I think that I’ve succeeded.
Acupuncture is a complete medical system and as such can treat almost anything. That said I specialize in treating sports injuries in both adults and children, women’s health including fertility and pregnancy and all types of pain. In addition I work on allergies, colds and flu. By it’s very nature acupuncture is all about balance so I also find myself treating stress, anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, digestive problems and lack of energy. I also do Mei Zen facial acupuncture where I can tonify and lift your face. By treating the person not just the symptom I get better overall results than if I just treat the symptom.
One of the things I enjoy most about my practice is that I have entire families coming to me. It’s especially nice to be able to treat a preteen or teen and teach them about acupuncture and the importance of maintaining good health.
I believe that the less stress one can have in their life the better so I have evening and weekend appointment times. |

Bio |
I was raised in the midwest (Iowa) and moved to Portland to go to Lewis and Clark College. I loved Oregon so much I stayed. After college I worked in several sales jobs eventually winding up at Nike as an apparel sales representative. It was during this time that I experienced the power of acupuncture with a health issue of my own. While the acupuncture cleared up my pain rather quickly I really noticed that it helped me deal with the stresses of life. I try to bring both the physical healing and the stress reduction aspects of acupuncture to all my patients.
I live an active life; walking, swimming, cycling and doing yoga on a regular basis. I enjoy gardening, photography, music and reading. I have a smart, energetic dog named Bruce. I think travel is a necessity and as such I enjoy at least one trip a year. I try to live my life as stress free as possible. |
