Music Therapy Services for a Broad Range of Clients
View phone
As a board certified music therapist, I have worked extensively with various clinical populations including autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, dementia/Alzheimer's, mental health, and teens and adolescents. Currently, my practice is mobile, so I would have to travel to the clients place of residence. I am not currently set up for insurance, so I only accept cash or check payments until notified. When working with children and adolescents, I require that a parent or guardian is present and that areas of need (e.g., IEP goals) are expressed through notification or by the parent.

Bio
Hello. My name is Matthew Jeremy Edler and I am a board certified music therapist who serves clients in the the new castle county and Delaware area of the mid-atlantic region. In the fall of 2012, I completed my masters degree in music therapy at Immaculata University where I received comprehensive instruction and training to work with a multitude of client populations, both group and individual. I hold two bachelor of arts degrees from Shepherd University as well as Delaware State University where I completed by Bachelor of Arts degree in music performance. While completing my requirements for board certification, I finished my required clinical placements at various centers in the Wilmington/Newark area including the Rockford Center, Christiana Care (Evergreen Center), and for the Christina School District (Delaware Autism Program). Specializing in developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders, my masters thesis consisted of two parts. 1. A comprehensive literature review which examined all of the published books/resources describing music therapy interventions for clients with developmental disabilities, and 2. an original activity/music songbook for clients with developmental disabilities. During my tenure in graduate school, I helped co-author an analysis and study of english-speaking mt journals and presented at the regional conference in Baltimore, MD. The article is being published by Music Therapy Perspectives and will be in print in March, 2013.
