Then maybe it is time to seek therapy.
Every stage of life presents different challenges and opportunities for growth. Having worked as a licensed psychotherapist with children, teens, adults, couples, and families, I am a resource for people seeking to meet those challenges, resolve difficult problems, and achieve the personal success that results from this process. I truly enjoy helping people obtain peace and happiness in their lives. I offer compassion, empathy, and support as you work to heal and grow.
Education/Training
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCS 26684) with 10 years of experience in the field of mental health. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminology from California State Polytechnic University Pomona. I received my Master's Degree in Social Work with a Specialization in Children, Youth, and Families from California State University San Bernardino. I am certified as an Active Parenting course provider. I am also certified as a Bereavement, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Therapist. I have been in Private Practice since 2007. In addition to this, I am currently a field instructor for the Master's in Social Work Program at USC. My experience also includes working as a medical social worker, a therapist in the school districts, a therapist for severely emotionally disturbed children in community agencies, and a therapist in a state correctional facility with maximum security offenders.
Bio
I provide traditional psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals, couples, families and children. My goal is to assist clients in creating an emotional, physical and spiritual balance in their lives. My therapy practice is based on a variety of approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy, brief and solution-focused therapy, psychodynamic and interpersonal therapy that are interactive and unique to each individual. I approach treatment with consideration of each client's values, cultural identity, strengths, and life experiences. I enjoy working collaboratively with clients to make real and lasting change. I am particularly skilled in working with clients dealing with marriage/relationship issues, parenting, anger management, depression/anxiety, postpartum, and grief and loss including but not limited to infertility, infant loss and miscarriage. Through one's work with me in therapy, my clients can expect to develop new skills and insights to gain control over their behaviors, thus becoming empowered to new possibilities in all areas of their lives.
