Getting Back to Your Best Self
My clients are fundamentally healthy, curious, and creative people who are feeling stuck in some way. They have come to counseling because they are finally ready to put to rest some old family issues, or are running into patterns or anxieties that they are tired of carrying around. Counseling helps mobilize your own resources to regain a sense of purpose, aliveness, and meaning.
In addition to my counseling practice, I am a holistic health coach, offering nutritional coaching program to people who want to make dietary and lifestyle changes that will increase their energy, health, and happiness.

Bio
I love my work and am committed to helping my clients develop their inner resources such as courage, kindness, insight, humor, and resilience.
I have a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Connecticut, am Licensed in the State of Connecticut as a Professional Counselor (#001419), and am certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors and am also a Board Certified Coach. I have extensive training in EMDR (level II and subsequent training), life coaching, energy therapies, EFT, positive psychology, and relationship coaching. I am continually learning, for my own growth and for the growth of my clients. The qualities of curiosity and wonder are core values for me, providing an endless source of meaning.
Although my doctorate is in counseling psychology, I chose to pursue my professional licensure as a counselor rather than as a clinical psychologist; the field of counseling psychology in general adheres to a humanistic model of nurturing health, whereas clinical psychology in general follows a medical model of treating illness. My perspective is that in most cases, when the impediments to growth are understood and removed, we are naturally wired to heal and to grow. Clients best-suited to my counseling practice are fundamentally well, seeking support for emotional healing, insight, and growth. My health coaching clients are people who feel ready to make changes to their diet, cooking, and lifestyle -- toward the wonderful end of more energy and greater lifelong health.
