Rebecca Carman, LCSW
My specialty is work with writers, visual artists, and other creative professionals. My goal is for clients to feel comfortable talking about whatever is on their mind, in an environment that feels warm, genuine, caring, and spontaneous.
During sessions, I listen intently as clients speak and ask questions that are illuminating. Together, we explore the past’s influence upon the present, and how each person’s individual psychology colors the way they see the world.
My training in psychodynamic psychotherapy has proven to be effective in this regard.
I successfully help people struggling with depression, anxiety, and/or problems with self-esteem.
Other times, people come to me because they suspect they have a role in ‘what is' but can’t put a finger on how, and what to do to make things better.
Psychological healing and growth can lead to all sorts of positive changes, not just relief from emotional pain. Ideally, relationships with important others improve, and vocations and avocations become a source of maximum fulfillment. I devote myself 100% towards this end for every person I see.
