Achieve Your American Dream
And enjoy more ease in the process
Are you feeling lost or stuck in your life or some aspect of it?
Do you feel like you are on a treadmill and lacking a deeper sense of meaning in your life?
Do you feel a gap between where you are and where you want to be?
I want to help you achieve your American Dream – discover it, define it and go after it. I also want to help you find more pleasure in your daily life – those simple joys that might be passing you by unnoticed. It is possible to do both. Through dialogue, exercises and sensory exploration, you will gain the focus you need to create the life you truly desire while carving out time and space to live a full and passionate existence right now. Life is too short to live a life unfulfilled. In one on one sessions (in person, on the phone or via Skype), together we create strategies so that life is as rich and fulfilling as it can be. We find ways to manage stress, deal with the overwhelm of modern life and find creative ways to solve problems. We are collaborators in the process, and I am here to support and guide you as well as provide accountability so you make progress.
Education/Training
I earned my Masters in Social Work from New York University. I was mentored by Life and Creativity Coach Sharon Good and completed the training to become a Transitions Lifestyle Coach. I have been trained in motivational interviewing for substance abuse through the Health and Hospitals Corporation. I completed a certification in Ericksonian Hypnosis at the NLP Center of New York. I have a B.A. in Drama from the University of Dallas. I learned many of the tools I now use in creative expression through years of training in alternative acting and writing methods.
Bio
I am a counselor and life coach living in New York City. I earned my MSW from NYU and now combine my social work experience and education with my background in the performing arts, creative writing and years of self-education in Eastern philosophies in order to assist people in overcoming their challenges. My experience is eclectic: As a psychotherapist at an outpatient clinic on the Upper West Side, I help adults of all ages battling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues and the stress of major life transitions. When I worked in an acute inpatient psychiatric unit at a municipal hospital, I helped people with a host of issues including major depression, bipolar disorder and chronic substance abuse. In the walk-in center of an LGBT counseling center, I helped people who were struggling with their identity and their relationships among other issues. In an after-school program, I worked with high-risk adolescents around issues such as substance abuse and sex education. And in a Head Start program I worked with toddlers and their families around behavioral problems. As a performing artist and writer, I performed in off-off Broadway and regional theater and appeared in independent films.
