Stephanie A. Richards, LPC, PLLC
Comprehensive and Christ-Centered Counseling Care
Adults, Couples, Adolescents, and Children
Emotional wounds can sometimes drive our thoughts and behaviors which may influence our relationships in ineffective ways. Traumatic events leave scars, like negative thoughts, painful/intrusive memories, hopelessness or anxiety, relationship problems, or destructive choices, that are difficult to overcome merely through our own awareness and the awareness of others.
My trauma-sensitive perspective helps me evaluate your situation and provide appropriate solutions to normalize your reactions, change your underlying unhelpful beliefs, and overcome the problems caused by the trauma. Going through the trauma was painful enough, therefore, my goal is to promote healing that feels safe, nurturing, and empowering!

Bio
I work with children/teens, adults, couples, and families. I approach the therapeutic relationship in a warm and personalized way, with humor and creativity to enhance the counseling experience. My professional focuses are trauma/PTSD, grief/loss, anxiety/depression, coping with medical illnesses, relationships, substance abuse/dependency recovery, abuse, faith struggles, and parenting. I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), the use of play in therapy, and other creative and expressive modalities to encourage God's design for healing from hurts, losses, and unfortunate life events. My personal experiences of thriving beyond trauma/loss and a cancer diagnosis provides a unique insight and empathy to my client's journey. As a believer in and recipient of God's design for healing and restoration, I integrate a Christian worldview to enhance my clients' healing experience and encourage their spiritual journey.
