Individual, Couples, and Family Therapy in Tustin, CA
Drug and Alcohol Aftercare Specialist
I maintain a private practice in Tustin, CA providing individual, couples, and family therapy. My specialty is aftercare counseling for people in recovery from alcohol and substance abuse. I also provide supportive counseling and family therapy for the family members of recovering people. Other issues such as marital problems, communication difficulties, depression, anxiety, life-changes, etc are also frequently addressed.
I began counseling in 1999 while working on my MA in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University. This first experience was at a free clinic and I helped clients there with a wide variety of issues from depression, anxiety, bereavement, phobias, divorce, domestic violence, substance abuse, and more. From there I interned at a private practice where I worked to help my clients recover from many similar types of problems. Then, I went on to work at Phoenix House in Santa Ana, CA helping adolescents recover from alcohol and substance abuse/dependency. There, I engaged in thousands of hours of individual, group, and family therapy. I also taught an orientation class to the family members of incoming patients every week. After 8 years at Phoenix House I transitioned to helping adults with substance abuse and dual diagnosis issues at Miramar Recovery in Laguna Beach. I have recently opened my own practice in Tustin, CA and I teach psychology classes as an Adjunct Professor at Argosy University in Orange, CA.
