Dr. Steve Orma is a clinical psychologist in San Francisco and Marin County providing individual and couples therapy for anxiety, eating disorders, depression, stress-related issues, and other life challenges. Therapy by phone and/or video calling (e.g., Skype) is also available. Dr. Orma’s primary goal as a therapist is to help clients not only overcome problems, but to lead happy, fulfilling lives. He utilizes Cognitive Therapy, an active, skills-based approach that helps individuals learn how to identify and change negative or inaccurate thinking, as well as understand and effectively manage emotions and behavior. Dr. Orma also uses Solution-Focused Therapy to help individuals identify and highlight their strengths (ones they may not even be aware of), building self-confidence and helping to capitalize on past successes.

Dr. Orma received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of California, San Diego, and his Master's and Doctoral Degrees in clinical psychology from Alliant International University in San Francisco.
Bio
Dr. Orma has worked in a variety of clinical settings including the San Francisco VA, Sacramento State University, Kaiser Permanente, and New Dawn Eating Disorders Recovery Center. He has also taught Law and Ethics for the Marriage and Family Therapy program at California State University, East Bay.
