Bio
Dr. Ron obtained a B.A. in behavioral sciences from the Ben-Gurion University in Be'er Sheva, Israel, and received a master's in counseling psychology and a doctorate in clinical psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago.
Throughout her career, Dr. Ron has attained diverse experiences working with individuals from all walks of life and in a variety of settings. Dr. Ron started her career as a director of a local branch of a national head-hunting and vocational recruitment agency. She subsequently worked for the local diplomatic mission to the Midwest, supporting the local Israeli community and diplomatic staff on issues related to immigration and acculturation.
Upon graduation with her master's from the Adler School, Dr. Ron worked as a special needs adoption coordinator, clinician, and consultant to early childhood programs and as a clinical supervisor at the Jewish Children's Bureau. Additionally, for six years, she has provided assessment and treatment services to individuals recovering from substance abuse, trauma, incarceration, and homelessness within the inner city transitional residential program of the Chicago Christian Industrial League. Dr. Ron served as the co-director of the training program in psychology, supervised members of the professional staff and graduate doctoral students in psychology, as well as consulted to program directors and management.
Presently, Dr. Ron teaches at the Adler School of Professional Psychology, consults to businesses and corporations, and own a private practice in Skokie, and downtown Chicago, IL. Dr. Ron specializes in the treatment of dually diagnosed individuals, survivors of trauma, treatment of complex PTSD, loss and grief, self-image and identity issues, relationship issues, and life crises and transitions.
Dr. Ron is licensed in the state of Illinois as a clinical psychologist and as a professional clinical counselor. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, and serves on the board of the Mental Health Association of Greater Chicago (MHAGC).
