“Life is an ever-flowing process and somewhere on that path, some unpleasant things will pop up.” The key to managing through those tough moments is balance, which can be effectively achieved through the practices of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. DBT’s main goal is to create a life worth living. DBT therapists and their clients work in tandem to harness the power of behavioral change to move you closer to your goals, whatever they may be. DBT is ideal for anyone who struggles with substance abuse, eating disorders, self-harm, and impulsivity such as risky sexual behavior, shoplifting, and aggression.
Through individual weekly therapy, Lexi specializes in helping her clients to develop a personalized and attainable treatment plan to ensure the efficacy of the process. Lexi helps individuals to incorporate mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotional regulation to improve their quality of life.
Through the use of genuine support and sincere validation, Lexi works closely with each client to ensure their personalized goals are being met. It is the DBT belief, and Lexi’s personal style, to view the relationship between client and clinician as equal partners in your journey. As if both are in a row boat, rowing in sync towards your goals!

Bio
My name is Lexi Mulee, and I am the president and founder of Wise Mind Counseling. I began my clinical career working with women who struggled with eating disorders in an inpatient setting. There is where I began to find my niche and passion for Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Through incorporating mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness skills to help my clients overcome their eating disorders, I began to see how effective these tools can be for many individuals.

After 5 years working in the Eating Disorder realm of the mental health field, I made the switch to working with individuals struggling with substance abuse. I again found the undeniable benefits of utilizing the skills of DBT in my group and individual therapy sessions. Clients seem to take to the validation spirit of DBT, and the view of the clients and clinicians as peers- more-so than any other therapy I have practiced before.

As my interest and passion grew for DBT, I decided to begin my very own private practice that focused on providing individuals with therapy sessions that incorporated the many helpful skills of DBT, Wise Mind Counseling, LLC. As I cultivate my practice, I continue to be mindful of platforms in which those who are struggling with a multitude of concerns (eating disorders, substance abuse, borderline personality disorder, and impulsive behavior) can have the resources they need to get help!
