Dr. Holtzman's interests and strengths are providing therapy to children, adolescents, and/or adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, ADHD, adjustment and relationship difficulties, employment difficulties or who struggle with physical and chronic ailments. Dr. Holtzman is also skilled at administering a multitude of psychological assessments (e.g., psychoeducational, psychodiagnostic, and social-emotional functioning assessments). In particular, Dr. Holtzman specializes in assessment for learning, behavioral and emotional challenges. She also specializes in assessment for developmental disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities.

Dr. Holtzman's theoretical approach is an integration of cognitive-behavioral, psychoanalytic, solution focused, and multicultural paradigms. Dr. Holtzman has a keen understanding of how cultural and/or familial expectations and prejudices can play a role in affecting a person’s mental health and their relationships. Dr. Holtzman will work collaboratively with clients to understand their worldview, and will provide a safe, supportive environment where they can understand the underlying patterns of their suffering, learn to empower themselves, strengthen their decision-making abilities, and take their next step in deepening their relationship with themselves and with others. She is an active facilitator in therapy, and will provide direct feedback and insights.
