Muscle Release Massage Therapy (MRMT) was founded in 2017 with the goal of offering high quality deep tissue and therapeutic massage therapy to help our clients recover and overcome injury and pain. Our therapists are held to the highest standards in our field. Each therapist has an in-depth understanding and knowledge about injuries and injury prevention and bring this knowledge to every interaction.

Our goal is to work with our patients to not only bring relief and recovery to their lives but ensure that they have the tools and knowledge to prevent reoccurring injuries. Everyone can benefit from Muscle Release Massage’s techniques. Whether you are an office worker, an athlete, an Olympic lifter, MMA fighter, or have a more sedentary lifestyle we can help. When our muscles are subjected to repetitive use or sudden injury there is a build-up of collagen type 3 fibers wrapped around your muscle that creates a hard texture (also known as a knot) and the modalities we use break down these layers helping your muscles be more elastic and pain free.

Bio

Alix is the owner and founding massage therapist of Muscle Release Massage Therapy (MRMT). She has been practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist for nine years. She specialize in therapeutic massage for athletes and works extensively with injury recovery. Alix has a Kinesiology Degree from the University of Alberta, which has allowed her to develop a more full understanding of the movement mechanics of the body and expand her knowledge in how she treats her patients. She also holds an Education Degree which influences how she teaches her patients about their injuries and inspires her to constantly be offering learning opportunities for her clients.
