Beyond Words Therapy Clinic, PLLC, is a pediatric speech and language therapy clinic serving Milan, Medina, and the surrounding communities. We provide individualized therapy services to children 0 to 18 years of age utilizing a child-led, play-based therapy method. We honor all forms of communication, whether it is verbal, nonverbal, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), gestures, pictures, and more, while recognizing that communication extends BEYOND WORDS. Our mission is to help children become confident and effective communicators!

Bio: |
Jodie Scott is a Speech-Language Pathologist and the owner of Beyond Words Therapy Clinic. She was born and raised in Milan, TN, and she currently resides there with her husband and three children. She graduated from Milan High School in 2000 and received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Lambuth University in 2004. She received her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from The University of Memphis in 2006. Jodie has 16 years of experience in the field and has worked with children ages 0-18 years with a variety of speech/language needs and diagnoses. She has been employed primarily in the school system, but also has experience in the clinic setting. She utilizes a child-led, play-based approach in all her therapy sessions. Her areas of interest include speech sound disorders, language disorders, and feeding therapy. She is one of a few SLPs in Tennessee who is trained in Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) and is listed on the national NLA Clinician Registry. Jodie holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association as well as a Speech-Language Pathology license from the State of Tennessee.
In her spare time, Jodie enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling. Some of her favorite things include Disney, the beach, the St. Louis Cardinals, and her dog, Chip! |
