Practice Information
Feeling stuck? I will be work with you to help you feel better and find ways to reach your goals. I will listen carefully in order to understand as much as possible about what you are going through. I will ask questions when needed and giving sensitive feedback to you in a timely manner.

Shortly after you begin therapy you and others may begin to notice positive changes in yourself. As you begin to make better decisions for yourself, you will find that the problems that first brought you to therapy, such as feelings of depression, anxiety, codependency, or anger will have less power to affect you. You may feel more confident, and may experience improvement in relationships with your friends, loved ones and in your career.

My clients often tell me that therapy helps them to become more reflective and in control of their lives, and that they are becoming more capable of attracting the kinds of people and situations they want. This is because therapy helps one to discover strengths that were previously unknown, or if known, not being used effectively. Therapy can be an amazing tool for personal transformation.

If we work together, I will remain involved in your progress throughout the course of your treatment. I will support you as you pursue the challenging, rewarding path of positive, lasting change. Whether you opt for short or long term work, therapy is an investment in yourself that lasts a lifetime.

Education
About me professionally:

I received my Masters Degree from San Francisco State University in Marriage and Famiy Therapy and Rehabilitation Counseling and became licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 2000.

My specialties also include drug and alcohol recovery studies (UC Berkeley Extension 1993) and psychoanalytic psychotherapy (Center for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy 2004-6). In 1997, I founded Our Family Coalition, a non-profit organization serving the needs of non-traditional families. Since then, I have developed a private practice that is inclusive of many kinds of people from many walks of life.

About me personally:

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I came to the San Francisco Bay Area with a lot of hope, but eventually became aware that I seemed to lack an inner road map that others seemed to have. After several painful attempts to create the life I wanted all by myself, I decided to try therapy. I was surprised when it actually worked. Since then, I have raised a family and in 2000 became a licensed psychotherapist. My offices are in Oakland and San Francisco.

I have found that like me, many who start therapy are skeptical that lasting positive change can come from seeing a therapist. Yet change is possible, if you are willing to work for it.
