Practice Information
I'm an ordained clergywoman, have a Dr. of Ministry degree, endorsed by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, a KY Licensed Pastoral Counselor, and credentialed a an ACPE Psychotherapist. I'm qualified to offer pastoral care, pastoral counseling and pastoral psychotherapy, and life coaching. Pastoral counseling calls for the integration of psychology and spirituality/religion when applicable to the Client. My own theology is moderate and leans to the left. While I'm a Christian attending Highland Baptist Church, I've also been trained to work with those of other faith traditions. In addition, Clients are accepted as they are; some Clients aren't in need of a spiritual/religious emphasis in their therapy, and I use a more secular approach with them.

In addition to offering therapy, I also offer clinical supervision and train others in the art of pastoral counseling. Training is at the post-doctoral level and prepares those who desire licensure in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Bio:
Becoming a pastoral counselor/therapist surfaced later in my life. I'm a late bloomer and began my college and seminary experiences while raising my son and daughter as a single mom. My initial experience as a counselor began when I served as a volunteer facilitator assisting US Navy chaplains affiliated with CREDO (Chaplains Religious Enrichment Development Operation) in Norfolk, Virginia. CREDO was initially developed to heal those who returned from Vietnam and later was expanded to include dependents. That's where most of my own healing took place.

On a more personal level, I was divorced from my first spouse and then raised two children as a single mother. I later remarried and after thirty years in that relationship became a widow.
