Dr. Novello specializes in providing comprehensive assessment and psychotherapy services to high-functioning children, adults, and couples struggling with a variety of symptoms, including depression, anxiety, and relationship problems. Through individualized and compassionate care, she helps clients attain greater satisfaction in their lives by increasing stress management skills and self-esteem. She has an integrative approach and may draw on different psychological approaches during the course of therapy to deal with the struggles that you are currently facing. Therapy is a cooperative endeavor and together you and she will develop treatment goals, which can include relief of symptoms, solutions to specific problems, increased insight, or improved relationships. Dr. Novello strives to provide a safe space in which you can experience uncritical acceptance and explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Through focused attention and empathy, she hopes to promote self-understanding and to be a consistent and understanding presence in your life. Therapy involves a large commitment of time, money, and energy, so it’s essential that you feel confident about the therapist you select. Dr. Novello will be happy to answer any questions you may have to help you make an informed decision.

Education

Dr. Novello earned a degree in psychology at Columbia University in New York where she graduated with honors and distinction. She completed her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles, an American Psychological Association approved doctoral program. As part of her training, she completed a clerkship, a practicum, two half-time internships, a full-time APA approved internship, and post-doctoral training. She is licensed by the State of California as a Clinical Psychologist (PSY# 20595). Dr. Novello has broad clinical and assessment experience with both children and adults. She has trained in a variety of settings including private practice, medical, forensic, community clinic, and student counseling center.

Evelyn Novello, Ph.D. is a psychologist in independent practice in Pasadena where she provides assessment and therapeutic services to children, adults, and couples. Novello & Associates is a practice consisting of clinicians with different specialties, working under Dr. Novello's supervision, and who are able to provide services on a sliding scale.
