Practice Information
My name is Jackie Viola. I was a therapist at Mandarin Counseling from 2007 until 2014. I left to pursue full-time employment. However I am happy to announce that as of April 2016 I will be back at Mandarin Counseling part-time.

I have two children in elementary school which gives me first hand knowledge of the joys and challenges of parenthood.

My passion is to advocate for children and help them work through the issues that life throws at us. We don't have to let stress overtake us, however sometimes it takes time to find the right path. We must look within ourselves to find out what is causing stress in our lives and recognize any patterns that continue to create the stress in order to develop a plan of action.

Bio:
The therapeutic process can be challenging as we are usually not wanting or ready to face our challenges head on. My approach has us working together to increase your support system as we tackle through the issues causing the most stress. Sometimes the process only takes a few sessions whereas other times it might take months to work through our issues. Everyone is unique and every situation is different. I would like to work with you to develop and implement a specific treatment plan that works for you.

I have over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents and families. I have dedicated the last few years working exclusively with military families on and off installations. I enjoy working with children and their parents as a team so that we can work through the issues together often by utilizing play therapy techniques. I have worked in a variety of settings including several school systems (preschool to High School) which can be beneficial in understanding the stressors that our children face on a daily basis.

I have provided individual and family therapy services to address anxiety, depression, separation and divorce issues, deployments, exposure to family violence, abuse and trauma issues, parenting issues, school related issues, and blended family issues. In addition to providing counseling services to our younger population, I do have experience working with adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression and trauma recovery.

Finding the right therapist for you and your family can often be challenging. Please feel free to contact me to find out if I can help you can through the current struggles.
