Practice Information
Going throug a transition or experiencing a loss? Struggling with a relationship or an important decision? Lonely or stressed out? Family and friends can be helpful, but sometimes the help of a skilled, supportive listener in a tranquil setting where the focus is your well-being is the best place sort things out and move forward. For twenty years I have had the privilege of helping people here in the New York area heal from pain, enrich their relationships and rediscover their natural energy, gifts, and joy.

Here in New York it is a joy and a privilege to serve people from across the country and around the world. I work with many people who seek to be as successful in their personal lives as they are in their careers. People tell me that in the midst of the busy week our sessions offer a peaceful, nurturing place to get in touch with their best self and discover a new balance in life.

Each person or couple seeking therapy is unique. That's why I don't offer cookie-cutter solutions. Our work together is respectful and collaborative. Listening carefully, I draw on the most effective resources and research, using my experience and creativity to help you build the life you seek.

In these challenging times you need experienced, caring help for yourself or your relationship.

Education
You may have seen me interviewed on CNN or in USA Today, the NY Daily News, or other media outlets where the subject is marriage and family life. My articles on family life and emotional and spiritual growth have appeared in many national magazines over the past twenty-five years, including Parents, Working Mother, The New York Times Magazine, and Family Circle, and I have written 6 books on family life. My columns appear on the Episcopal Café, and I was a contributing author to From the Ashes: A Spiritual Response to the Attack on America, a collection of essays written after September 11. I have also written on sandplay for the journal Women & Therapy.
Bio:
have been working with couples and individuals in the New York area for twenty years. People tell me that in the midst of the busy week our sessions are a peaceful, nurturing place to get in touch with their best self and find a new balance in life. I have helped many individuals and couples heal from pain, gain confidence, and enjoy their relationships.

When you come for your first session, I'll create a safe, supportive environment for you to talk about your concerns. I am active, drawing on many different aspects of my training and experience to understand you and meet your unique needs. With couples I use current research to help you learn to manage conflict and create a healthy, fulfilling relationship. With individuals I draw on my creativity and skills to help you discover your strengths and move forward.

My approach is supportive and respectful. If you are dealing with difficult emotions such as anger, grief, or fear, I am comfortable with these and will work with you to create a safe place for you to experience, understand, and cope with them.
