Practice Information
Mindfulness increases your ability to cope. It cultivates self-compassion, non-judgment, acceptance, and awareness – all vital to healing. Mindfulness encourages perspective and flexibility, strengthening overall mental health. It allows us to live in the present moment by recognizing thought patterns, letting go of unhealthy attachments, and ultimately getting us in touch with what it means to be more fully alive.

Integrative

An integrative framework involves mind and body.
It examines how your worldview, defense mechanisms, physical and spiritual health, culture, family roles, and larger social systems are interconnected.
Personality, past experiences, and beliefs are also looked at to understand how well-being is created and maintained.
Healing involves exploring and being curious about these various aspects of your life and how they interact.
Therapy facilitates this journey toward health, wholeness, and peace.

Wellness Focused Therapy

My therapeutic approach is wellness based, stemming from Positive Psychology, which focuses on strengths and values that empower the individual. This allows for innate and organic healing processes to take place.
I believe this approach, together with Mindfulness and an Integrative framework, promote insight, shift, growth and balance in a most honoring and profound way.
Therapy entails venturing inward, and nurturing internal wisdom to bring about this transformation

Bio:
Jessica Evers Killebrew, Psy.D. has attained a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. She is a psychotherapist with the official title of psychological assistant as she works under the license of both Dr. Tania Davidson and Thomas Habib as a pre-licensed professional. Dr. Killebrew conducted doctoral research on Mindfulness. She has worked with a vast array of populations since 2006 as a therapist including; individuals of all ages, couples, and patients with chronic illness (cancer, pain) with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, bi-polar, and personality/attachment issues. Dr. Killebrew is a compassionate therapist who believes that cultivating a relationship with the mind is vital to mental health and well-being. She facilitates this process via the collaborative relationship with her clients using empirically supported Mindfulness-based interventions, which focus on awareness. She takes a more integrated/comprehensive approach to mental health, looking at the biological and social components that contribute to a client's development and level of functioning. Dr. Killebrew uses the framework of positive psychology in working with a client, focusing on strengths and values to empower the individual and help bolster their inherent healing mechanisms.
