Practice Information
I work with individuals and couples in a compassionate non-judgmental manner. I believe that together we will arrive at solutions so that you can work through the issues that may be bothering you at this time. I work with both a present oriented manner offering you cognitive behavioral strategies. As well, if needed we can explore your problems with a psychodynamic approach which means going deep into your psyche to discover the roots of your issues. I have an abiding interest in Jungian psychology which includes a love of working with dreams as I believe they offer us clues to what lies in our unconscious and often the point out the path to psychological growth. I have also been trained in EMDR, a specific technique to help people who have experienced trauma and continue to suffer its long term effects, such as flashbacks, nightmares and a discomfort in being in the world. As the Chinese say every crisis can be an opportunity and so every psychological block or neurosis or troublesome issue can be an opportunity for growth, possibly even offering a chance to be more fulfilled and psychologically healthy.
