My counseling approach is informed by my training as a marriage and family therapist, ten years of exploring alternative forms of healing therapy, and most importantly, by my own path of healing. In 2001 I was diagnosed with a chronic disease called Ulcerative Colitis. Though I was placed on an ulcerative colitis treatment plan, I was told there was no cure for this disease, and that I would be living with U.C. for the rest of my life. After eight years of struggling with this digestive disease, I discovered the tools and techniques that addressed the root cause of my illness. Through a gentle process of bringing more awareness to my thoughts, healing emotional wounds, and changing my relationship with my body, I have been fully healed from Ulcerative Colitis for over 2 years. If you are suffering from any mental, emotional, or physical imbalance, there exists a systematic approach to understanding why this imbalance is manifesting in your mind, emotions, and body, and to begin healing. As we uncover the root cause of imbalance, we then have the choice to change our thoughts, emotions, and actions, allowing more love into our lives and reconnecting with our hearts. We regain balance within, and healing occurs naturally within us.
Counseling sessions take the form of traditional talk therapy, nutritional consultation, guided meditations, visualizations, as well as movement, art, and sound therapy. Healing is a unique journey, and I work with clients to uncover their own path towards emotional healing, deepening the connection to their intuition, body, and heart. I offer my services of counseling and energy healing in peace, love, and for the highest good of all.
Holistic counseling can help those dealing with:
Anxiety, depression, grief and loss, compulsive thoughts and behaviors, addiction, anger, irrational fears, unresolved emotional pain, relationship issues, emotional blockages, trauma, lack of meaning or life purpose, fear of intimacy, physical limitations, disease and illness, spiritual crisis, destructive patterns and behaviors, and feelings of isolation.
Benefits of holistic counseling include:
Increased feelings of peace, joy, self love, meaning and purpose in one’s life, contentment, greater intimacy in relationships, ability to create a life one desires, increased physical health, greater self awareness, increased ability to handle stress and make healthy life choices, and greater compassion for oneself and for others.
I offer holistic counseling sessions at my offices in Oakland and Berkeley, California. I also offer counseling sessions over the phone and by Skype. |
As a child I felt a strong connection to the spiritual dimensions of life. As I got older I began to lose touch with this intuitive knowing and connection. Trauma at an early age sent me into a deep “forgetfulness” of the Source of love within, and my connection to Life. I turned to spiritual literature and meditative practices, seeking for answers to why my life was filled with so much sadness and pain. The feelings of unconditional love and connection I felt as a child seemed like a distant and foggy dream.
This emotional pain I was holding in my body eventually manifested as a chronic disease called Ulcerative Colitis. I was diagnosed at the age of 21, and living with this dis-ease was a daily challenge that I faced for 8 years. I continued my personal and spiritual development while traveling and studying holistic health and alternative medicine. I went on to get my master’s degree in counseling from San Francisco State University. However, my real education has come through experiencing firsthand the process of energy healing. Through mindful awareness practices and other techniques for increasing self awareness, I learned to dissolve old mental and emotional patterns, allowing emotional healing, physical healing, and ultimately allowing more peace and love into my life. I have been symptom free for over 2 years. My spiritual healing is ongoing, however, as I continue to grow and expand into more of who I am.
This experiential learning is not something one can learn in a book, but rather, is a process of surrendering beliefs about who we think we are, and what we think reality is. The mind is not equipped to conceptually understand the beauty, love, magic and mystery of the Universe. Healing and greater awareness come only when we empty our cup first, creating space for the actual experience and magic of who we truly are, and what life is.
I currently live and work in the East Bay, and see clients out of my home in Oakland, California. I enjoy singing, dancing, painting, gardening, investigating holistic health, alternative medicine, natural remedies for healing, cooking, spending time in nature and with kids, practicing yoga, and meditation. |
