Practice Information
Muscular Injury Specialist is an owner/operated practice specializing in clinical massage therapy. The therapist, Michelle Reisinger, uses numerous techniques in the quest for a decrease in pain and and increase in function. Each session may vary according the the results of the previous session.

Muscular Injury Specialist has been based in Chiropractic and Physical Therapy Clinics since 2000. It is currently located in Larry Johnson Chiropractic.

Muscular Injury Specialist strives to offer Quality Massage services at an Affordable Rate. Many take advantage of the affordable rates and high quality services to address chronic pain issues such as Migraines/headaches, Shoulder Pain and Limited Range of Motion, Upper Back Pain, Low Back Pain, Sciatica, and Poor Circulation in the legs. Many have Disc/Nerve related symptoms causing chronic muscle tightening and pain. Many have had Joint Replacements, and suffer from Arthritis, Stenosis, Degenerative Joint Disease and Osteoporosis.

Muscular Injury Specialist also treats many Sport Related Injuries and/or chronic issues related to Athletics. A recent testimony is that of a Racquet Ball player. He came to Muscular Injury Specialist after injuring his shoulder. He had already taken several weeks off in the hopes his injury would heal itself. It had not. As a result, he thought he would no longer be able to play again. After one treatment, he was able to resume his game. In the first week, he played one day, holding back only minimally. He then played another day holding nothing back. So, he pushed it further and played a tournament, winning 4 out of 4 games. He continues to come on a weekly basis, playing 4 days a week with no pain complaints.

Muscular Injury Specialist also treats many clients on a weekly basis due to on going job related stresses. In the height of many careers, there are many mental stresses as well as physical stresses that will not go away until the career is over. Consistent massage therapy can minimize the ongoing stresses, relieving most, if not all of the symptoms. A recent example of this is a school teacher. Most teachers how have come through the clinic usually suffer with pain located between the shoulder blades, neck pain and headaches. This teacher was no exception. She also suffered low back pain. After one treatment, she noticed her symptoms went away. She continues to come on a weekly basis with the complete alleviation between sessions.

Muscular Injury Specialist also recognizes the occasional need for referrals out to other medical providers. Massage Therapy sometimes needs to be used in conjunction with other forms of treatment. At times, Diagnostic tests are required. There have been a few instances in which Massage Therapy could not help, and would even be detrimental to the client. This is usually in the case of pain caused by severe nerve damage and or severe disc herniation needing immediate surgery.

Education
Michelle received 500 hours basic massage training in 1999. She became Florida State licensed and nationally certified in 2000. In 2004/2005, she continued with another 500 hours of advanced medical massage training. She became the 63rd Nationally Certified Medical Massage Therapist through the Medical Massage national certification Board. This training was based in Physical Therapy based Manual Therapy Techniques, Orthopedic diagnostic tests, along with numerous other aspects of clinical oriented massage therapy.
Michelle continues her education as required for license renewal. She also continues her education beyond the basic requirements through much self study. All areas of study are based in Clinical Massage. Her current area of study is in Parkinson's Disease.

Michelle has realized the more she learns, the more she has to learn. She believes continuing education is a never ending requirement that should never be restricted to the basic requirements for license renewal. Her collection of reference material is vast, and yet, due to financial restrictions, is far less than she would like.
Bio:
Michelle Reisinger is the owner/operator of Muscular Injury Specialist. She received her basic massage training of 500 hours at the Florida Academy of Massage and Skin Care in 1999. She graduated as Valedictorian of her class and became licensed and Nationally Certified in 2000.

Michelle choose the field of massage Therapy, and more specifically, Clinical Massage, due to injuries she received and the Chronic Pain that she lived with as a result of these injuries. She has been motivated to learn all she could to help her clients due to the personal understanding she has of the effects of Chronic Pain and the Compassion she feels because of her personal understanding of what they are going through.

Michelle listens closely to her clients, as she feels they are more in tune with what's wrong than she could ever be. She also feels they intuitively know what they need in the form of treatment. Michelle strongly urges her clients to take an active role in all aspects of their treatment, in and out of the office.

Michelle is also able to offer hope to those suffering chronic pain. Through her own journey, she has learned much about the many aspects of Chronic Pain. After awhile it begins to manifest in the emotions causing depressive symptoms of hopelessness and/or anger and irritability. There issues only aggravate the existing symptoms. Add to this having to continuing working while suffering Chronic Pain, or being unable to work and the fears associated with having no income. Michelle has also recognized a food/chemical component that increases the symptoms of Chronic Pain. And then of course is the lack of proper physical activity that also increases the level of Pain and Dysfunction. As a result of recognizing all these aspects, her knowledge of Advanced Manual Therapy Techniques, and the use of all this knowledge in her own Chronic Pain symptoms, Michelle now lives a pain free life. She still has Structural related issues that cause chronic symptoms, but is able to stay on top of those symptoms, minimizing the symptoms of the structural damage. This is the hope she is able to offer others who are living with Chronic Pain. Michelle loves her chosen career and her ability to help others suffering in the same way she once did.

Michelle is also the mother and a grand mother of two beautiful young ladies whom she loves very much. She is also a practicing Christian who believes what is lacking most in the world today is the love of Jesus Christ.
