I am a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC), with an additional specialty in treating gambling addiction (CASAC-G). I have a masters degree in rehabilitation counseling, which is based on the therapeutic concept of empowering individuals to reach their maximum potential. I work with diverse populations, and have extensive clinical experience in individual and group counseling, keeping current with new techniques and research in the field of counseling and psychotherapy. I have the counseling expertise to teach you the skills that will improve your relationship to yourself and to others. This leads to personal growth and a healthier lifestyle. I also counsel couples how to communicate, leading to a more satisfying and solid relationship. I will support you through the process of learning how to change negative thoughts and feelings such as depression and anxiety, low self-esteem, or misplaced anger, while you replace them with positive thoughts and feelings. You will also unlearn negative behavior patterns and thereby improve your quality of life.
