In addition to 20+ years of experience using a variety of standard counseling tools, I have certification in EMDR, a tool used with troubling memories which is available to you. Certified Level II Practitioner of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is judged to be an effective method of treatment for trauma. I am working towards certification in Clinical Hypnosis from the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH). Education And Training University of Pennsylvania 1994-2003: completed coursework (all but dissertation) towards a degree in Social Welfare with a variety of courses in sexuality, victimology, and advanced social work practice theory. Did this under a full scholarship. University of Pennsylvania 1992-1994: Master of Social Work with a concentration in mental health treatment. University of Vermont 1985-1989: Bachelor of Science in Social Work.

Bio:

I have learned a lot from my training at the University of Vermont and the University of Pennsylvania in counseling practice while working on my social work degrees. However, I have learned a lot more from the thousands of people who came to me for services in a variety of different settings. What I have learned from them is how resilient people can be in dealing with the stresses in their lives. I bring my training and the experience that comes from thousands of people getting better to you.
