Practice Information:
I am experienced at working with individuals and couples facing the impact of any impaired family member on your life, issues of siblings (particularly the impact of having an impaired sibling), , challenges for couples (married or unmarried) who want to improve their relationship or reduce the negative impact of endings, the challenges for new parents, challenges of emerging adulthood for college students and young adults, the stresses of aging and caring for aging family members. I offer careful listening and active attention to your concerns when facing both the unexpected and inevitable stresses of life. I also work with un-partnered adults who lack the connections that they value. Loss and grief, depression, anxiety, illness, and life transitions (such as managing the transition to college, mid-life issues, aging and aging parents) can create the need for an ally in understanding and developing new coping strategies. In addition to my private practice, I have worked as a college psychotherapist for over 20 years and teach and supervise pre-doctoral psychology interns as a Training Director .
Dr. Caplan is a licensed Psychologist and Health Service Provider in the State of Massachusetts. She is currently adjunct faculty at Antioch New England Graduate School and the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology and is on the faculty of the Psychoanalytic Couple and Family Institute of New England.
