Education
I received my Masters degree from USC where I graduated with Honors. I then obtained a Certificate in Advanced Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Southern California Psychoanalytic Institute. I ranked in the top 5% nationwide in an exam to obtain Diplomate status. I also became certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing).
Bio:
My clinical experience, training and background is broad and includes working with battered women and children, juvenile delinquency, the elderly (I hold a Minor in Gerontology), and major mental illness. I worked at UCLA's Neuropsychiatric Institute, primarily with adults. I served as the Regional Clinical Director at Aegis Medical Systems, an opiate dependency treatment program. I am also concurrently the Clinical Director at TheACY, a non-profit grief support program. I have served as a Field Instructor for UCLA & USC's graduate students, receiving the Master Field Instructor Award from USC. In addition, I am Adjunct Faculty at Ryokan College where I teach psychology at the graduate level. I utilize EMDR to address trauma and PTSD and generally apply a psychodynamic approach to my clinical work, incorporating cognitive therapy when necessary. I provide pro bono services to veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars through The Soldiers Project.
