We often hear that the most precious commodity is “Time”. One of the greatest investments one can make is investing personal time in self/self-care. One of the many ways that can be achieved is through therapeutic counseling. I am a firm believer that the pathway to wholeness lies from within the individual, yet at times the path may not be clear.
My goal is to come alongside you one step at a time as we explore your present, past and future concerns while creating a judgement free space. Building rapport in a therapeutic environment makes room for collaboration where I am able to identify behaviors that lead to unfavorable outcomes while focusing on healthy behaviors that ultimately lead to favorable outcomes on your pathway to wholeness.
As a therapist, I utilize Person Centered, Reality Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational and Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Mindfulness and Relaxation Techniques. My approach to therapy iseclectic as no one person is the same or theory “cookie cutter” (one size fits all). Each individual is unique and as such should be approached based on their unique needs.
I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Illinois University with a major in Community Health and went on to complete my Masters of Education in Community Counseling at DePaul University. I have experience providing service for children, adolescents (6 and up), adults and married couples in private practice settings, inpatient/outpatient hospital settings and community mental health centers.
In addition to counseling, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband, children and family. I teach Sunday school ages 3 to 5. I’m crafty and often find “DIY” projects around the house to spruce things up or create centerpieces depending on the event! I’m a lover of nature and all things beautiful. |
